The Human Rights Violations Victims’ Memorial Commission (HRVVMC) has successfully conducted 7 Survivors’ Discussion Groups (SDG) in select areas in the Philippines for 2019.

The first SDG was held at Manila in March. The purpose of the meeting was for the survivors of the human rights violations during the Marcos Martial Law and the commission to stay in close contact and foster a healthy relationship with each other. It was noted by the commission that only a few of the 11, 103 victims who were recognized by the Human Rights Victims’ Claims Board are organized and HRVVMC would like to assist them by organizing these discussion groups.
